When creating goals nowadays I look inside for the feelings I got 20 years ago when being called "to your marks" for High hurdles track and field races.

It's that slightly unnerving butterflies in the stomach feeling mixed with adrenaline driven aggression - the natural (non-violent) aggression to be, do and enjoy to the best of my abilities at the time.

Often I lost, sometimes I was even in last place, but I was still back on the training track the following week ready to keep on improving and enjoy the friendship of running with others of like mind.

And do you know what the most beautiful yet poignant memory of that whole period was? The absolute freedom of running as fast as I could just for the fun and the satisfaction gained from getting better.

Find your passion? Yes, with one caveat:

Find your unnerving passion!
