If I gave you $1,440 today, how would you spend it?

I suspect you would carefully ponder the best use of it.

I bet you might even apply a portion of it towards
achieving some of your Goals.

And what if I gave you $1,440 tomorrow?

And another $1,440 the next day… and the next day?

How would you invest your $1,440 each day?

Still with me Friend ?

Now what if I gave you $86,400 today?

Would you value those dollars?

Would you apply a portion of them towards your Goals?

And what if I gave you $86,400 tomorrow and the next day
and the next day?

I bet you would pay even closer attention to how you would
invest it, right?

You would make it work for you.

I sure would.

I’m not going to give you $1,440 or $86,400.

You already have the equivalent of it but you may not
realize it.

Those numbers should have tremendous meaning in the scope
of life for both you and I.

You already have 1,440 and 86,400 in your bank account.

We begin each day with 1,440 MINUTES deposited into our
TIME bank account.

We begin each day with 86,400 SECONDS deposited into our
TIME bank account.

And how we VALUE those minutes and seconds is what
determines what they may bring us.

How we spend them and how we INVEST them determines the
quality of our life today and tomorrow.

And when you string the seconds and minutes together to
accumulate in the form hours, days, weeks, months and
years, you determine your destiny.

Much like money can compound with interest, so does our
time. Invest one hour per day into reading and it might
not seem like much but invest an hour per day into reading
in an area that can improve the quality of your life for a
month or six months or one year and you have the power to
shape your destiny.

We all began today with the same amount of time.

If you consciously value your TIME bank account, you can
transform any area of your life and achieve your Goals.

You are already wealthy.

What makes a person’s life for better or worse is the way
they invest their wealth of minutes.Â

What are you doing with your seconds?

How are you investing your minutes?

Everything affects everything…

How you think.

Who you spend them with.

What you do with them.

You may or may not have the dollars at your disposal but
you do have the seconds and you do have the minutes.

“A man who dares waste one hour of time has not discovered
the value of life.” -Charles Darwin

Allot some of your minutes towards reaching your Goals.

Allot some of your minutes towards pursuing your DREAMS…
every day.

The one thing you and I have in common is that today we
started our day on equal ground with the same amount of
minutes. Bill Gates, Oprah Winfrey, Michael Phelps, Tiger
Woods, (insert the name of someone who inspires you). We
all have the same minutes today.

What separates us is how we value our minutes and how we
spend and invest them.

What we do with that them will determine whether or not we
reach our Goals.

Don’t be fooled by the calendar. There are only as many days
in the year as you make use of. One man gets only a week’s
value out of a year while another man gets a full year’s
value out of a week. -Charles Richards

Quality of life and time management are as much about clarity,
prioritizing as it is about appreciation of the minutes we
have been given.

What we do with those 1,440 minutes today and everyday will
determine our results in life.

That’s 525,600 minutes per year.

Invest them wisely.

Since the Holiday Season is officially upon us in the USA, it is important to recognize the wave of seasonal momentum that accompanies it.

I bring this to your attention now so that you can give yourself the ability to make a conscious decision of what you want to create for yourself in the final 33 days left in 2007. That gives you plenty of time to tie up loose ends get a handle on any unfinished business you want to wrap up before December 31st.

For some this time of year brings great growth and positive momentum, yet others experience a decline or negative momentum, as in a slow down.

There are many myths about the Holiday Season when it comes to business. These myths apply to both online and offline businesses.

The Biggest Business Myth of the Holiday Season: “Only retail and gift businesses grow during this time of year, every other business slows.” This is simply not true. I love it when people tell me that business is slow this time of year and that my business will slow whether I want it to or not. It seems like a rather helpless proposition, doesn’t it?

In most cases, business slows for them because they stopped doing the daily method of operation that their business needs in order to continue moving forward. Many business owners actually reduce their efforts and fail to follow their own action plan during this time because they believe it is a slow season, because someone told them it would be and so it becomes true for them. Because they believe and accept this erroneous prediction, they stop trying, they stop injecting life giving effort into their business. That is why business slows for them.

Yet for others, this is the time or year to create exponential growth. If your competition is reducing their efforts, and most are, it is the perfect time for you to rev it up and make your move.

Don’t get caught in the trap of reducing your efforts because the media, your peers or anyone tells you that business slows. Do not ever accept that invitation to slack or minimize your efforts. This is the most critical time of year to practice consistency for any business. Every action you take in December contributes to a stronger January. Keep the ball rolling.

The keys for thriving during the Holiday Season are persistence and consistency. Every day people are looking for whatever information, service or product you offer. Those who keep up, stick with their plan or even increase their focus and efforts this time of year are the ones who will reap the rewards and explode their growth in the coming year.

Choose to be one of them.

You do not have to succumb to the myths that others use to rationalize their own laziness or reduced actions that are based purely on opinion.

Momentum breeds Momentum.

Winners know that finishing strong in December is the catalyst for massive growth in January as it sets the tone for the rest of the year.

Live Your Dreams,

The more meaningful your Goal is, the more essential it is to track your progress. You can’t improve what you don’t measure.

There are multiple benefits of measuring your results from the beginning of any endeavor:

1. Seeing your progress and having the proof of positive results builds confidence.

2. Tracking gives you valuable feedback so that you can modify your plan or change your approach if it’s not moving you in a satisfactory direction or speed.

Once your attention is placed upon a specific target, your conscious and subconscious mind work like heat seeking missiles in the quest to achieve it.

People who use a pedometer to measure how far they walk lose more weight, exercise more and have lower blood pressure than those who do not, researchers said on Tuesday.

It was not clear from the study, the first to review most previously published research on pedometer use, whether those who use the devices are more motivated in the first place, just benefit from the assistance, or both.

Many pedometer-related programs recommend users set daily goals for themselves, such as 10,000 steps or about 5 miles (8 km).

Dr. Dena Bravata and colleagues at Stanford University in California reviewed 26 earlier studies covering 2,767 people, with an average age of 49.

It found that pedometer users took more than 2,000 extra steps a day compared to those who did not use the devices, and that having a goal of reaching a certain number of steps was a significant factor.

Those using the devices, which are worn on the hip, also lost weight as measured by body mass index, and significantly reduced their systolic blood pressure — the top number in blood pressure readings, which indicates the maximum pressure of a contracting heart.

“Our results suggest that the use of these small, relatively inexpensive devices is associated with significant increases in physical activity and improvements in some key health outcomes, at least in the short term,” Bravata’s team wrote in the report published in this week’s Journal of the American Medical Association.

You’ve defined your Goal, identified your key strategies, created an action plan and have started to put it into action.

What’s next?

As you proceed, it is important to measure your results and track your progress (or lack of it). This is the least exciting part of the journey of any Goal, but I assure you it is one of the most important. This is where it gets a little tricky due to the fact that every Goal is different. Each Goal has it’s own unique targets, time lines, and action plans, therefore it will require it’s own unique system and schedules for measuring.

Not every Goal needs to be measured, just your most critical ones. For example, if on the weekends you take guitar lessons to explore your interest in learning how to play, you don’t necessarily need a plan for measuring your progress. But for your highest priority Goals, you absolutely do. If you are building a business or trading in the stock market, your very financial existence relies upon your systems for tracking.

People often seek my coaching and assistance because they are stuck in some way. They say, “I am stuck! I have tried everything and nothing works!” The first thing I do is ask for their gauges, measurements and stats for the related area. Often they reply with blame or excuses about the economy or some outside circumstance for why they are off track and never is that the real reason for a decline. The reason for almost all struggle, stagnation and lack of growth is due to a lack of attention, measurement or action in the critical areas. It is usually a matter of neglect and fortunately there is a quck and easy solution to create a major turnaround.

The fastest way to create a breakthrough is to measure and examine the critical areas of your Goal.

You cannot change what you don’t measure. You cannot improve what you don’t measure. Where focus goes, energy flows so begin focusing on your major key areas that are critical to your success.

Tracking reveals the true reality of a situation. Many Goals can be measured with numbers. For example, Health Goals provide many numbers to monitor your progress; pounds, inches, blood sugar, triglycerides, blood pressure, as do a multitude of other precise diagnostic measurements.

Tracking builds confidence. When you have a great plan, are following it and producing phenomenal results, you automatically raise your own self-esteem and that optimism carries over into every other life area. Knowing that you are on track and having the validation of facts as proof gives you an enormous boost.

Tracking provides valuable feedback and indications of areas that may need to be addressed or adjusted. If your Goal is to lose weight and the numbers on the scale are going up, up, up each week, it could be an indication that you may need to re evaluate your plan or if you have a great plan and have not been following it, simply renew your dedication to it.

For every Goal that does not succeed, there are always numerous indicators along the way that would have provided a snapshot or a warning ahead of time and all throughout the journey, if the critical components would have been measured and appropriate action taken, the Goal could have been salvaged.

Your Action Plan:

1. Examine your highest and most important Goal and the key areas that will ensure it’s success. What are the aspects you will need to measure so that you will know on any given day, at any given time, whether or not you are progressing on track?

2. List at least ten precise critical components you can begin measuring and tracking. (if you come up with more than ten, that’s even better).

3. Create targets for each of the chosen areas. This can be done by looking at the end result and tracking backwards. What are the ideals you will need to achieve in order to successfully realize your Goal?

4. Create the most appropriate schedule for tracking and checking your gauges and schedule it into your planner. How often should you measure your metrics, stats and gauges and examine your progress? If the Goal has no end, as such with an ongoing business, you can certainly break it down via yearly, quarterly, monthly, daily and even weekly measurements.

Since each Goal is unique, your Goal will require unique systems and schedules for tracking it. By implementing this for all of your highest priority Goals, you will instantly begin to produce better results.

Goal Achieving abides by the Universal Law of Cause and Effect. If you don’t like the results you are creating, change your approach, increase your efforts, modify your plan, but don’t stick your head in the sand and neglect to see the truth of the situation.

The fastest way to improve your results is to measure your progress. So re examine your most cherished Goals and see where you stand. Your mind will instantly begin to search for ways to make improvements in those key areas.

Numbers don’t lie. Welcome whatever data you receive and take the appropriate actions to ensure your success!

Every Goal that is lofty, meaning it is beyond your current capacity, skill level or comfort zone, will require a major shift to occur in order to be realized. Big Goals are big because the distance from where you are now to where you want to be requires so much more of you than you are accustomed to giving.

“If you want to achieve something you have never had before, you must become someone you’ve never been before.” -Jill Koenig

Before the shift, you are plagued with doubt. After the shift, you don’t just think you can do it, you KNOW you WILL. In fact, the Goal becomes so crystalized, it lifts you, it permeates every cell of your body and your heart sings with joy every day, every step of the way even before it manifests. Your Goals should be feeding you, motivating you and exciting you long before they are realized.

Get yourself in sync with your Goal.

There are millions of people right now wishing they would become a Millionaire. They’re saying, “When I get my million dollars, I’m going to start living right. When I get my million dollars, I’m going to start giving to charity. When I get my million dollars, I’m going to start waking up earlier. When I get my million dollars, I’m going to start exercising and eating right. When I get my million dollars, I’m going to read and learn some new skills. When I get my million dollars, I’m going to start pursuing my passions. When I get my million dollars, I’m going to be a better person. When I get my million dollars I will start living my dreams.”

They want to keep acting like it’s business as usual, doing the same old things, with the same stinking thinking, believing they will somehow achieve a different result. Same old thoughts, same old friends, same old habits, same old skills, same old mindset, same old results, same old you.

For that person, the identity shift has not yet occurred. Their thinking is backwards. They think the money comes and then you magically change internally.

If that were the case, then all lottery winners would be the happiest people in the world. The truth is they are not. In fact, they are far from it. Most lottery winners are bankrupt within 5 years of winning. Sure lottery winners acquired the money, but they had the same old mindset. They didn’t become millionaires internally. There was no inner transformation, no new identity.

Every person I have ever known who has achieved this shift, and created lasting change, has first recreated themselves to learn and embody the traits of someone who would own the Goal. I am not talking about ‘fake it ’til you make it.’ I am talking about redirecting your thoughts, energy and actions into the type of person who would absolutely manifest that Goal.

I will never forget the rapid advancements I experienced when I first began to understand this.

It was the time I went from dead broke to seeing money start to flow through me.

I chose a few millionaires whom I admired, I studied them and then I modeled them. I saw that by adopting some of the traits and habits they practiced, that I was able to become more like them. I even modeled their mindset. It took some conscious effort on my part in the beginning, but I quickly realized that my Goal of becoming a millionaire was more than a distant possibility. Because I was becoming a millionaire within, it had become a certainty.

I learned to think, act, walk, talk and feel like a millionaire FIRST and it became my identity inside me long before the money arrived. I became a millionaire in my mind first. I felt like a millionaire because I had transformed myself physically, mentally and emotionally and when it rained, it poured.

It is simple. Every millionaire I have ever met does things a certain way. They rise early in the morning. Then they read or listen to motivational audios. They invest in their own personal development. They have a certain routine that helps them focus, think and grow. Read what millionaires read. Go where millionaires go. Do what millionaires do. Talk like millionaires talk. Walk like millionaires walk. Feel like millionaires feel. Believe what millionaires believe. And here’s the big one, dream what millionaires dream. Set lofty Goals the way millionaires set Goals.

http://www.GoalUniversity.com

I guarantee you the millionaires of the world are not waiting until January 1st to set a few random Goals and forget about them within three weeks. High performing men and women are crystal clear about their Goals and have them in sight at all times because they are becoming or have become the Goal they desire.

Think of some people who have achieved a Goal similar to the one you desire most.

What are some things you can begin doing right now that will cause the shift inside you?

Who will you need to become?

The greatest reward of Goal Achieving is not what you get, it’s who you become.

Become the Goal and enjoy the journey. It’s a lot more fun!

“Personal strength in all areas of life comes as a result of
consistently pressing against what is pressing against you.”

===================

Results or Excuses?
By Jill Koenig
Author, Coach, Motivational Speaker

I am surrounded by a great group of friends who constantly
encourage me and challenge me to stretch myself.

Many of these friends have entered my life as a direct result of
launching GoalGuru.com, which I embarked upon during a very
challenging time in my life.

I do believe in the law of attraction. Goal oriented people
attract other Goal oriented people.

Somehow you and I attracted each other, didn’t we?

One Goal oriented friend created a Goal Band for a group of us.

On the wristband he inscribed the simple phrase:

“Results or Excuses?”

You see, we have an understanding within this circle. When we
are discussing the inevitable challenges that arise in life, our
obligation is to ask the question:

“Results or Excuses? You can’t have both, which one will you
choose?”

It is not intended to attack, ridicule or criticize, it is an
invitation to take another look at the challenge you are
currently faced with in a new light, with a new consciousness. A
perspective that your challenge may be of opportunity instead of
one of an obstacle.

In all great pursuits, there will be some resistance.

Sometimes when we first encounter resistance, it feels
insurmountable.

There is temptation to give up, to quit.

And sometimes if we catch ourselves, and take another look, we
will find that we truly can work around it, overcome it, try
another approach and rise above it, even breakthrough it
entirely and reach a whole new level of success.

Sometimes that resistance is merely our own fear and self doubt.

And most of the time, fear is what arises just prior to the time
your greatest desires are about to be realized.

It’s almost always uncomfortable to do something you’ve never
done before. And sometimes that fear is enough to cause a person
to turn back, procrastinate or give up, when if they would just
continue on, give a little more, go a little further, get a
little uncomfortable… grow and stretch, they would triumph.

For example:

There are millions of people in the world who had an idea or a
dream but never made the effort to pursue it because they were
“broke.” They were afraid. It might not work. What a great
excuse.

There are others in identical circumstances who made the
extraordinary effort to pursue a dream BECAUSE they were
“broke.” They were afraid too. But… they pursued it anyways,
made the effort, succeeded and created Results.

For one person, being broke was an “excuse” to not attempt.

For another it is a “Reason” to rise above their circumstances
and create a “Result.”

It’s just a simple question.

And sometimes a simple question you ask yourself is all it
takes to give yourself a new empowering distinction.

A fresh set of eyes.

You are the captain of your ship, designer
of your destiny.

Always.

So the next time you are faced with a challenge that “appears”
insurmountable, ask yourself

“Results or Excuses, which one will you choose?”
