Boomers are Booming and apparently 80 is the new 40.
Scientists still cannot agree whether the average human life span will be 85 or 100 or 150, but one thing is for certain, the days of getting a “good job” and working there until you retire at sixty are over.
During the twentieth century the human life span increased by more than 50 percent in most industrialized countries. When Jeanne Calment died in southern France in 1997, she was 122 years old, the longest-living human ever documented.
Today, 1 in 10,000 people in industrialized countries hold centenarian status.
One thing is certain. It’s never too late to pursue a dream, in fact, feeling young has a lot to do with staying active and engaged in your passions and things that interest you.
If you knew you would live to 100 or more years, what changes would you make in your health and lifestyle habits today?
Here are some examples of Goal Getters, 8 Entrepreneurs over 80 who are living their dreams.
Live Your Dreams,
Jill

I absolutely appreciate articles that motivate people to take on new challenges and find and/or reinvigorate their passions, regardless of age, or, however long they may have set them aside. 50-60-70-80-90 years old and counting? Your article affirms Nike’s(?): Just do it! Your decision to just do it makes it so. Why not live a life without regrets? And, on the internet, there is no age. Share your unique heart, soul, passion and expertise–some of those billions visiting your website will surely benefit.

I’m 25 now, so if I live another 100 years, that makes me the new world record holder!!! I’m all for that!
Great points Jill.

Very inspirational; thank you, Jill, for putting this together! It’s obvious that these are people who take good care of themselves and stay connected to other people and the world around them. I just finished reading the delightful and informative “Younger Next Year”; what these positive productive 80 plus year olds are saying proves much of the info in this book.
